At first, the symptoms of meningitis B may seem like the flu. However, symptoms can progress quickly and may appear different for each individual:

Meningitis B Symptoms: Severe Headache

SEVERE HEADACHE

Meningitis B Symptoms: Sudden Fever

SUDDEN HIGH FEVER

Meningitis B Symptoms: Stiff Neck

STIFF NECK

Additional symptoms may include:

  • NAUSEA
  • VOMITING
  • SENSITIVITY TO LIGHT
  • RAPID BREATHING
  • CONVULSIONS
  • LIMB, JOINT AND MUSCLE PAIN
  • SLEEPINESS
  • COLD HANDS AND FEET
  • SHIVERING
  • CONFUSION
  • DARK PURPLE RASH (TYPICALLY ON THE TORSO, ARMS, OR LEGS)
